The Special Awards celebrate those who’ve made a stand-out contribution to the industry.
The Globe Travel Awards are about celebrating success in every form, which is why there are three awards designated for individuals and companies who have inspired, innovated and shaped the industry. Unlike the other awards, which are voted for by agents, these awards are judged by a panel of experts.
These awards are nominated for by travel agents, if there is a colleague, contact or ground-breaking company you think deserves recognition, this is your chance to shine a light on them.
To submit an entry, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of your nomination and reasons why they deserve to win before 11 December 2019.
Penny Akam Unsung Hero
This award, named in honour of Travel Weekly’s late Penny Akam, recognises individuals who have gone the extra mile to improve the lives of those around them – whether it’s working round the clock to help things run smoothly, fundraising for a cause close to their heart, or doing something exceptional in the community.
The winners are extraordinary individuals who deserve recognition – and it’s up to you to help give them it.
Innovation in Travel
This accolade celebrates those who’ve pushed the boundaries in any way, shape or form. The winner could be a person who’s spotted a ground-breaking opportunity and ran with it, a company who’s made their business more efficient with a new process, or any firm that’s created an innovative solution to a key industry problem – whatever you think worthy of recognition.
The ultimate accolade, the Outstanding Achievement Award honours the travel greats who’ve made a significant contribution to the industry. It can be any individual who’s carved out a distinguished career in the industry, shaping it for the better through hard work, commitment, dedication and the type of passion that makes the travel industry what it is.
The winner for this award is chosen by a panel of experts and will be announced on the awards night.
